The City
Yeah, finally British weather! Cool, not cold, sun but not scorching and was dry most of day!
The day started with bus ride to John Wesley's House, the Chapel and museum. It seemed staffed by volunteers who are helpful but not very knowledge. And after waiting ages for guide re house tour we just headed over to house only to be told they had just let a very large group in and would be at least 45 minutes! They had a concert later in day and we were able to hear as pianist practiced for his concert!
Then headed to restaurant for lunch with Savernake Gang. It was wonderful seeing everyone and catching up. Time marches on but frienships remain and we just picked up from where had left off as if no gap in time! The restaurant was wonderful and our server was really great and did excellent job looking after us.
The City has changed so much! New construction and buildings everywhere and hard to recognize much at all. On way to St Paul's stopped for a visit to Leadenhall Market, now a trendy bar and restaurant area, and not a "market" anymore. If it looks familiar could be from Harry Potter films as one of locations.
Then onto St. Paul's for Evensong and a quick look around. Nice service but even though much cooler outside still hot inside. Choir, as always, wonderful and lovely setting.
Then stopped on way back to flat for few light dinner items, M&S Food Hall to rescue, lunch was big meal and didn't want another big meal! Plus starting to rain so thought best to grab a bite and eat in.
In souvenir shop by St. Paul's
Gone but not forgotten....
Tomorrow off to Victoria and Albert, Kensington Palace anafternoon tea!
