Again and breaks record
Another, hot and steamy day in ole London Town. Six straight days of 30c + temperatures is record breaking!
An early start today as attended the 8am Holy Communion Service at Westminster Abbey
Then time to head to The Tower, via Uber Boat!
Mechanical problems with boat and had to change boats half way there!
But it got us to the Pier right by Tower and Tower Bridge.
The Tower has a Royal Chapel and we attended the 11am Sung Matins Service for which you can obtain a special entry card
Luckily had taken early boat as unsure about timing and obtaining entry. As bit early we were able to walk around outside Chapel and take in Tower and Ravens. Lovely service with amazing choir and organist.
After chuch met up with friend who joined us for lunch at Katherine's Dock. And then afterwards we went and visited the Classic Boat Show on over weekend. The show included a number of The Dunkirk Little Ships from WW2 used to get trapped soldiers off the beaches.
As so hot we decided to take a bus, no they are not air coditioned but at least sitting, and see some sights and head on back to flat.
After sitting with fans blowing on us, so cooler, headed out to grab some dinner. Found good little Kebab Place that popular and shared table with interesting French woman who has lived in UK for years and in process of publishing book about France and all its issues!! Never know who you might meet when travel 😊
Tomorrow is Buckingham Palace day with charging of Guards and Tour!
