Buckingham Palace Day

Finally a bit cooler, at least outside!

Up and out to hurry up and wait😆 Joined the throngs of people to watch Changing of the Guards in front of Buckingham Palace.  Grateful for a clear sunny morning as had to stand and wait for about an hour before ceremony started.

Then off to meet Val and Linda for lunch and Buckingham Palace Tour.  Found nice little sandwich shop.  Delicious cream cheese and smoked salmon on crumpet....

No pictures allowed at Buckingham Palace but I can assure you the rooms are GRAND!  The special display of Coronaction Robes, gown and Jewels does not disappoint either   The embroidery on Camilla's gown is amazing in its detail. And the robes are so long and can't imagine how heavy they are to "pull".  But, Charles needs to get some air conditioning in "his house" as Bloody hot!!

Linda, not in photo, kindly agreed to be photographer when ran into some people for pictures!!

After delicious cake and cold drinks in the gardens we headed for cold drinks in Pub before Val and Linda caught a train home. We shopped Mark's and Sparks and got Lasagna and Apple Crumble for dinner.  Nice to just thrown in oven and put feet up for the night.  Especially after 5-6 miles of walking and lots of standing today, feet up felt sooo good👍

Tomorrow's adventures include John Wesley's House/Museum, lunch with Savernake Gang and St Pauls.  Oh good, another slow day🤣

  1. Well, finally I got into the Blog - all sorts of problems but NOW I'm HERE. Wow you have done a lot – many things that one couldn't do before I left for OZ. Love the pictures and all the commentary. I really envy you. Still chilly here but supposed to go up to 30C (86F) by Friday. Kitties are fast asleep on the couch next to me and send PURRS! Love Lindy
