I just want a place to park!

This morning was nice, sunny and forecast was low 70s with sun πŸ‘

As we are staying in area called Sunningwell we drove into village and visited the local parish church - St. Leonard's.  It is a lovely small parish church that is still used but seems shares a vicar with several other small churches in area. Parts of the church date back to the 12th century!

Then headed to Cotswolds for the day.  First stop was Burford which was crowded but able to find parking in public lot by river.  Walked shop

Next stop was to have been Burton-on-the-Water except was packed and parking lots FULL so drove on.  Went through Lower Slaughter, which appeared to have a big wedding about to take place, and onto Stow-on-the-Wold via some single track roads with lovely views of area.  Again absolutely no place to park and I thought about turning around and driving through town again, in hopes of a spot, until realized queue of cars to get into town probably about half mile long!! So then headed to Chipping Norton and it was a mess -- construction had parking lot closed plus a Fun Fair on in town. So cars and people everywhere. Then onto Moreton-in-March -- finally a parking spot in car park by river, with lots of ducks to help protect car🀣 Wandered around the town visiting shops and cafe for late afternoon cuppa. Although late afternoon decided we'd try one more place, Stratford-upon-Avon...The Bard's home! As late was not crowded and saw Shakespeare's House and walked around town and visited few places, like Marks and Spencers!

Dogs are man's best friend..so allowed in some restaurants in UK...

Plugged bungalow address into Google maps and headed out. Once fairly close found a Pub and stopped for dinner, so didn't have to go out again!

  1. You certainly pack a whole lot into a day. Look forward to talking to you about the trip when you are home. Still in heatwave here - total fire ban, i.e. can't even barbecue as too dangerous fire issue. Love Lindy
